Drivers that download and install the “Mobile Accident Report” developed by Insurance Information and Monitoring Center (SBM) on their phones, saves great time in creating the previously cumbersome accident report.

The first thing to do with the “Mobile Accident Report” is to upload at least four photos of the accident scene to the system. One needs to enter all policy information in the system. All information like driver’s license information, and pictures of driver’s license and the registration can be uploaded in the system. This way all there’s left to do after an accident is to give a short description of the accident and a simple sketching of the accident scenario. All information is automatically transferred to the other phone. Drivers can also record a written or verbal description of the accident scenario, can shoot a short video of the accident scene and depict the accident on the scenario-sketching screen. Drivers can verify the information they entered easily on the changes/confirmation screen and can receive SMS notifications on their cell phones. The new app brings down accident creation times from 1 hour to 5 minutes and the total claim processing time from 12 days to 2 days.

Accident reports that used to be created using paper forms for a long time can now be created on smart phones as well.

With The "Mobile Accident Report" app developed by Insurance Information and Monitoring Center (SBM), drivers can now complete the accident report creation process quickly and conveniently.

Drivers who download and install the app on their smartphones can finish the accident creation process, which took a long time before quickly while traffic policemen can use their time in other areas where there's need.

The PDF copy of the accident report is e-mailed to the drivers as well and insurance companies of both parties are instantly notified via the app, which allows insurance companies to start the claim process right away. The new app is being used effectively in most cities

In his statement he made to AA correspondent, İsmail Erol, the head of Traffic Registration and Supervision Bureau of Ordu Security General Directorate said drivers have been using the paper accident report forms since 2008. Erol added that the officers had to go to the accident scene to prepare a report in case any of the drivers had a missing document and stated that Insurance Information and Monitoring Center (SBM) has developed a new app called "Mobile Accident Report" which can be used to create accident forms on smart phones.

Erol said that the Mobile Accident Report app is used only in Turkey in the world and that it is being used very effectively in most cities.

Erol stated that all it takes is a smart phone at the disposal of any of the drivers involved in the accident and said "The driver can record a verbal or written description of the accident scenario in the app and can also upload pictures of the accident scene".

The app prevents traffic jams caused by accidents

Erol stated that the driver can retrieve all policy information instantly just by entering some basic vehicle information in the mobile accident report app and said "The app gives clear directions to the user. Once the information is entered in the system, and is approved, all information related to the accident would be sent automatically to the insurance company."

Erol mentioned that, with the paper forms, the drivers had to take photocopies of their driver's licenses, registrations and insurance policies and that sometimes the process took too long because drivers couldn't find the means to finish these tasks. Erol said "Thanks to this new app, potential traffic jams are prevented as well. Drivers can complete the report creation processes in as short as 5 minutes without causing any traffic jams."

The app brings convenience for everyone

Erol stated that the new app has eased the lives of everyone and especially of the traffic policemen and continued as follows:

"The main duty of a traffic policemen is to ensure smooth and seamless traffic flow across the city and to arrange traffic flow. Thanks to this app drivers can take care of themselves easily after an accident so that traffic policemen would be able to focus on ensuring that main roads are open and ensure that traffic flows or other vehicles with right of way can move easily. As a result traffic policemen would be use their time more effectively in other areas where there's need rather than spending time with accidents with material damage. In the past, drivers had to prepare paper forms. The only difference is that they will do it electronically which will ease the lives of both citizens and policemen and the insurance companies."
