7.100 ONLINE ACCIDENT REPORTS IN 1 YEAR

The application deve​loped by Insurance Information and Monitoring Center (SBM) and allowing creation of accident reports electronically which allowed 7.100 online reports to be created on mobile phones in as short as 1 year, was downloaded over 425.000 times within only one year. Until today, over 7.100 reports were created using the application. With the new system which was launched in October last year, and completed its one year, the drivers can now prepare their accident reports online at the accident spot without needing any pen or paper. Mobile accident report application allows the users to access policy information automatically and share their reports instantly with insurance companies.

With the new application which was launched in October last year and completed its first year, the drivers can now prepare their accident reports much more conveniently and quickly on their smartphones.  Having completed its first year, the mobile accident report application was downloaded over 240 thousand times for Android systems and over 185 thousand times for IOS systems. The application has been used in over 7.100 accidents until today. The application, which was used at least once in 77 cities, was never used in Ardahan, Kilis, Muş and Siirt. The cities where the application was used most frequently were İstanbul, Ankara, Antalya, İzmir and Manisa. During this period the shortest report creation time was 5,5 minutes. And the shortest time for finalizing fault rates was 10 minutes. 85% of the users of mobile accident report were male. 35% of the drivers who prepared a mobile accident report were in the 26-35 age group.

The cities where the application was used most frequently were İstanbul, Ankara, Antalya, İzmir and Manisa. During this period the shortest report creation time was 5,5 minutes. And the shortest time for finalizing fault rates was 10 minutes.

Having completed its first year, the mobile accident report application was downloaded over 240 thousand times for Android systems and over 185 thousand times for IOS systems. The application has been used in over 7.100 accidents until today. The application which was used at least once in 77 cities was never used in Ardahan, Kilis, Muş and Siirt. The cities where the application was used most frequently were İstanbul, Ankara, Antalya, İzmir and Manisa. During this period the shortest report creation time was 5,5 minutes. And the shortest time for finalizing fault rates was 10 minutes. 85% of the users of mobile accident report were male. 35% of the drivers who prepared a mobile accident report were in the 26-35 age group. The most frequently observed accident type was hitting from the rear which had a share of 18%. It was followed by being hit when parked which had a share of 17%. 61% of the vehicles indicated in the accident reports were automobiles while 23% of them were in the trucks category.

ELIMINATING THE NEED FOR PEN AND PAPER

The mobile accident report which can be downloaded on smart phones and eliminated the need for pen and paper report forms, also allows the user to access all policy information and share the accident report instantly with insurance companies. The new system also informs the user via SMS about the fault rates of the accident once the incident is processed by the insurance company. With the new application users can also see which areas have the highest accident rates on the Accident Intensity Map which is based on data gathered from accident reports created online.

MOBILE ACCIDENT REPORT IS A HIT

The new application allowing creation of accident reports on smart phones brought a great deal of convenience for drivers who can complete the process much faster on their smart phones.

With the new application which was launched by Insurance Information and Monitoring Center (SBM) in October last year and completed its first year and is considered to be a first in the world, the drivers can now prepare their accident reports much more conveniently and quickly on their smartphones.  The new application is available on Google Play or Apple Store.

HOW DOES IT WORK?

By clicking on the "add new accident" button on the screen, the user adds a new accident report. On the accident general information screen that loads, the user enters the number of cars and fills the accident report. After clicking on the camera icon, the user takes pictures of the vehicles involved in the accident. The feature "show on map" shows the accident location on the map. After entering other information like license plate number of vehicles involved in the accident, Turkish ID number or Tax ID number, the user clicks on the "retrieve policy information" button which loads the screen with insurance policy information.

SIGNATURES CAN BE UPLOADED TOO

The user clicks on the QR code icon and the QR code screen opens. When the QR code of the policy is scanned, policy information is retrieved on the screen. You can access your policies with QR codes from the Insurance Policy Inquiry step on the official website of Insurance Information and Monitoring Center (SBM). The user then enters the information of drivers involved in the accident. It's important to enter the e-mails of the drivers on this screen as the a pdf copy of the accident report will be e-mailed to the drivers after the report is created. If you'd like to be informed via SMS, you need to enter your mobile phone number too. Both sides of the driver's licenses of the drivers involved in the accident are scanned and uploaded on the driver information screen. After the signatures in pdf format are uploaded, all information is e-mailed to the insurance company.
